Samhain or Halloween was first a Celtic Pagan holiday that heralded the end of harvest and more poignantly death. It was associated with the god Crom Cruach in Ireland, they believed the veil between the living and the dead was the most thin on this night.
The traditions for Samhain are vast and most traditionally deal in offerings to ancestors and communing with the dead.
